In-text citations
While writing a dissertation, there is a possibility that students have to directly quote or paraphrase the information from a specific resource. After directly quoting or paraphrasing the information, students should try to cite these resources in the body of the text. This is known as an in-text citation. For example, if you have quoted one or two lines of Fitzgerald in the main body of your dissertation, you should provide its in-text citation in the following way;

References list
While writing an HRM dissertation, it is also necessary for you to provide a list of all the resources from where you have gathered the data for your dissertation. It is known as a references list of your dissertation. While writing any resource in the references list of the dissertation, you will have to provide complete detail of this resource. For example, if you are going to cite any book in the references section of your dissertation, first of all, you will have to write the name of its author. After that, you will have to write the publication year. After that, you will have to write the name of the book. At last, you will have to write a publication city.
Harvard referencing list overview
The reference list of an HRM dissertation is very helpful for the writer because it provides an idea about the originality of the dissertation. Its reason is that with the help of these resources, readers can easily take an overview of the original resources from where you have gathered data for your dissertation. When you are going to provide a reference to any resource in the reference list of your dissertation, you will have to provide these pieces of information;

Examples of Harvard references styles of different authors in a dissertation
It is a fact that students have to gather data from lots of resources in order to complete their dissertation. These different resources are reference in different ways in a dissertation. Examples of Harvard references style of different authors in a dissertation are down below;
- For example, if you have gathered the data from such a book that has only one author, you can provide a reference to this book in your dissertation in the following way:
Last name of the author, first or initial name of the author. ( Year of publication). The complete title of the resource. Edition. (You should write the latest edition of the book) City of the publication: Name of the publisher, the total number of pages.
- In a similar way, there is also a possibility that you have gathered the data from such a book that has more than one author. Under such a situation, you can enter your data in the following way;
Last name of the first author, first or initial name of the first author and last name of the second author, first or initial name of the second author. ( Year of publication). The complete title of the resource. City of the publication: Name of the publisher, the total number of pages.
In a similar way, if you have gathered data from some other resources, it is necessary for you to provide references for these resources in the references section of the dissertation.
